This March, we invite you to join in with our photo challenge. Fundraising is difficult, especially in these hard times, and coming up with new fundraising ideas is challenging, but Jenny has managed to think up this brilliant version of a photo challenge.
The idea is that you take nine photos, each one representing a particular word (see below for a list of the words). When these nine words are added together, they make up the website address of Jenny’s fundraising page. When taking your photos, feel free to be as literal, abstract, surreal or allegorical as you are moved to be with your representation of each word. The nine words are as follows:
Photo 1: go
Photo 2: fund
Photo 3: me
Photo 4: dot
Photo 5: com
Photo 6: forward
Photo 7: slash
Photo 8: save
Photo 9: jenny
The idea is that, by the end of March, you should have posted all nine of your photos onto your social media. You can either post each of your photos separately at intervals or you can post them all together in a group. Whichever method you choose, be sure to explain what you are doing and share the fundraising page website GoFundMe.com/savejenny
Here is a template of what you might say along with your photo (though feel free to put it in your own words), which you are welcome to copy and paste if you wish:
‘This photo that I have taken represents the word ‘[insert the word]’. It is part of a March photo challenge, where I am posting nine photos that represent nine different words. When these words are put together, they add up to the website address of the fundraising page for Jenny Rowbory, which is GoFundMe.com/savejenny. I would be very grateful if you could read her story, either on the fundraising page or on her website here: https://www.jkrowbory.co.uk/about-me/ and consider donating to the cause. I would love it if anyone reading this would also join in with Jenny’s March photo challenge (more information here: https://www.jkrowbory.co.uk/2024/03/march-photo-challenge/ ) so that we can raise as much awareness of her story as possible and raise as much money as possible. Thank you very much.’
When Jenny asked on social media what kind of fundraising idea people would enjoy taking part in, a lot of responses were along the lines of ‘something creative but without too much pressure attached’. We are happy to have come up with an idea that meets that criteria and we look forward to seeing what photos you all come up with in response!
We hope that 2024 is treating you as well as possible. You have our sincere gratitude for your support of Jenny and the fundraising attempt to save her. We continue to be overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown. We are grateful for any amount donated and we would like to take this moment to especially thank those people who regularly give to the cause. You bring us hope. Thank you!
