My first film in a cinema was a school trip to see an independent Irish film about a little girl saving a newts habitat from an evil developer! My parents never brought us to the cinema as kids so I was a bit older when I started going with friends.
Notable memories are The Lion King for my 13th birthday,
Apollo 13 when I really wanted to go see Clueless but my parents wouldn't allow it!
Romeo & Juliet after my Junior Cert exams finished,
Titanic as an educational school outing
The Matrix blew my mind, I remember discussing it in the car with my friends after
And Shrek totally amazed me in terms of what they could now do with animation.
The Notebook stands out because I saw it in New York and the cinema seemed incredibly plush & comfy!
I also saw a Bollywood film in India & even though I didn't understand what was being said, it was an incredible experience with audience participation- booing the bad guy & cheering for the romance scenes.

Thanks for a little trip down memory lane!
